What Causes Eye Problems

Why is eye yoga so necessary?

Have you noticed that your eyes get tired quickly, your vision worsens, and sometimes you even have a headache? What causes these side effects? The reason isn’t always obvious. For example:

  1. It’s the spine – during pregnancy, it already feels the strain of additional weight. If the vertebrae have shifted or there are other issues, the optic nerve may be pinched.
  2. You became ill with complications.
  3. The problem with your eyes is hereditary.
  4. The impact of bad habits finally manifests at a time when the body is most vulnerable.
  5. You’re simply exhausted: stress, nerves, anxiety, or simple overstrain in front of the computer screen.

In most cases, special exercises will help alleviate symptoms at least a little. If there are no problems, then ‘eye poses’ will serve as a prevention measure.

Let’s not forget the enormous impact of the psyche. We learn to work with our emotions and mindfulness. For this, our program includes special meditation courses, podcasts that analyze psychological states, and other tips for improving both physical and mental health.

Eye Yoga

Using Hands

Take a comfortable position – lie down or sit, and make sure you are not cold:

  • rub your palms together – form a “cup” shape with your fingers;
  • cover the eye area so that the fingertips rest on the forehead, allowing the nose to breathe freely;
  • open your eyes under your palms – keep your fingers closed to block out light, and look into the darkness.

The exercise will help not only to relax the eyeballs and shield from constant visual impact but also to calm the nervous system.

Eye Yoga: Focus on One Object

Light a candle and observe the burning flame for a few minutes. Place the candle so that your gaze falls on it naturally, without effort. Ideally at eye level. Ask your family not to disturb you.

Pay attention to your posture – straighten your back and try to ‘sit on your pelvis’, open your chest and breathe freely.

If there is no candle, focus on any stationary point or object.

This technique also helps you to deeply experience the moment ‘here and now’, achieve mental balance, and reduce tension.

Mini-exercises to relieve fatigue

  1. Squeeze your eyes tightly shut for two seconds, then open them wide.
  2. Blink continuously for 60 seconds.
  3. Move your gaze as far right as though behind your right ear, then as far left as though you want to see what’s on that side. Do not turn your head. Then repeat in the downward and upward directions.
  4. Try to scan the entire room with your eyes, from the floor to the right wall, then onto the ceiling and to the left wall.
  5. Tightly close your eyes for a few seconds again.

Neck disease prevention also affects the eyes: imagine that your nose is a pen. Lean slightly forward and try to “write” a letter.

Body exercises that improve vision. Yoga for the eyes

To keep your eyes healthy, it’s worthwhile to pay attention not only to them individually but to the body as a whole.

Try these yoga poses for the eyes such as:

  • plow;
  • “birch”;
  • fish;
  • bending candle;
  • Shavasana – the relaxation pose.

Each of the above-described poses are practiced directly in “MomsLab” courses.

Before performing the poses, consult your doctor regarding contraindications. Among them:

  • recovery after eye surgery;
  • high blood pressure;
  • nausea.

How Mental State Improves or Worsens Vision

Often, mental issues are added to physiological ones. Our feelings, lingering emotions, chronic dissatisfaction can implicitly harm health. For example:

– constant anger directed at others, sometimes worse – at oneself;

– unwillingness to accept reality as it is (literally – refusal to see);

– envy and feelings of inferiority.

To deal with problems, you should first identify them. An emotion diary will help you with this, where you will “explain” to yourself and record your state, for example, every 3 hours over a week. What do I feel right now? Name it. What happened? After what event did I feel this? What is the true nature of my anger, envy, anxiety?

Imagine your emotions are your guests. Mentally send away the “uninvited” and “invite” those you want to see – Forgiveness, Love, Calmness, or Tranquility.

Eye Yoga

The key to success is daily eye yoga practices. Only consistency and the proper technique, which you will find in the “MomsLab” programs, will help you understand what your body is capable of and how great it can actually feel!
